This isn't the smallest matter, as the couple that the anime is focused on isn't the only potential couple here.
This leads to the other part that Lilac, shown in game and real life, is starting to have feelings for the guild master.
The Guild Master
Ironically, by the end of the anime, these are the only daily players left that are not in a real life relationship as well. Lilac and the Guild Master could be a good match. They might even be going to the same college. A significant amount of the population of Japan lives in Toyko and its likely at the most these two are a short train ride apart at most.
Lilac's poor college student player even spends real life money to try and get the guild leader's attention in game. He makes some comments that she takes far more personally than she would anyone else.
That said, his unexpected compliment lifts her spirits up far more than it should have as well. I think this is a love story that has yet to start.

Lilac Actually Loves Kanbe
Yuta Sakurai has come face to face with the cancer. One of the tools some people use to insure their job is limiting the scope of knowledge to themselves alone. They'll fail to train people on how to do critical parts of their job so that they themselves are irreplaceable.
The most evil of which will use this as a way of lording over those who were never properly trained. Rather than building an office that has people that can work together and quickly deal with multiple problems at once, they become the center of everything.
Witnessing this, Yuta Sakurai literally wants to rehire Moriko Morioka to fix the division. He knows that Ikeda Ririka will never build him the team he needs.
He knows what it takes to be a good manager and build a good team.
He also understands what can break a group's morale and the obligation to teach that team.
Homare Koiwai meets Moriko Morioka.
Homare Koiwai's meeting leads to a complication that Yuta Sakurai wasn't expecting.
This now opens the door to Yuta Sakurai discovering who Hayashi is IRL.
Chibi Reviews
There will be a major difference in the manga over the anime though. In the manga, Moriko Morioka confesses first. She does so even before Yuta Sakurai finds out about Homare Koiwai's date.
A worried Moriko Morioka stresses about her appearance.

This is already to chapter 37 online. This is the last of the translated works that I can easily copy and paste. There were only 87 chapters ever published and it is already to Episode 5 of 10 + the OVA.
Yuta Sakurai continues to figure out who Lily's friend actually is. He has multiple conflicts going on, as it is his original goal to just feel like family with his online partner. This is important to him as it has been something missing from his life since the deaths of the parents who adopted him.
At this point in the manga as well, he was considering recruiting Moriko Morioka to his division. That would make it unethical to have a relationship with her, just like it is according to the rules of the guild itself online.
