Let's start this one off by asking how much do you love gaming?   How pissed would you be if someone literally took not only that, but your three favorite things away from you to blackmail you into doing something against your will?

As you can read from the wiki below, to deal with Japan's critically falling birth rates, a company employing wizards from another world decides to intervene to help save Japan.  If you are chosen, you don't have any choice in the matter and the focus is on getting Japanese women to start romantically matching up as soon as possible in high school.

The heroine is completely against it.  Which I think, in all honesty, I think most people would be inclined to be.  

The heroine's love of: her cat, her chocolate, and her games are taken hostage to get her to comply.  I think most guys could think of it in terms of losing: games, beer and porn, because someone powerful drafted you against your will, at a point where you were still youthful enough or in a place where it didn't make sense to make romance a priority.

Thus, begins the story.   I think that premise alone is enough to make it worthwhile, there is more however.

There is also a little interesting part, in that the three men, the wizard selects literally seem to be a reverse of the supernatural elements of what was supposed to have started the Trojan War.   For those that don't know, three Olympian Greek Goddesses: Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite get into a bitter spat on which one of them is the prettiest.   

They petition Zeus to decide.  Zeus smelling an eternity where at least two goddesses will always hate him, quickly pawns the judging of this off on a poor mortal prince, Paris of Troy. 

It is worth noting something else.  Before Paris of Troy decides, each of the goddesses sweetens the pot with promises that are within their personal domains.   

Hera promised the rulership of all of Europe and Asia.  The wife of Zeus, who is the goddess of kingships and royalty, has the power to make that happen.

Athena promised the greatest warrior's skills and promised eternal victory in battle. The goddess of wisdom and warfare has the power to make that happen.

Aphrodite offered the affection of the Helen of Sparta, who was literally the most beautiful woman in the world.  The goddess of love has the power to make that happen.

Paris selected Aphrodite.  Thus he choses the most beautiful mortal woman as his bride. 

This is an issue as Helen was already the wife of the Menelaus, the King of Sparta.  That is as in the movie "300"'s Sparta (which was actually King Leonidas I instead centuries later). 

Sparta is Sparta, so the Trojan War was launched.   Many Greek cities backed Sparta, aware or not, in support of Hera's vengence.  Helen of Troy became known as "the face that launched 1,000 ships."  

The Trojan's lost the war.  The Trojan Horse ruse might have literally been Athena's vengeful cunning against them after suffering a long war.

Thus, this ends the metaphor.  In the anime, Anzu from the Anime isn't in a Greek Tragedy, so there is no war.

The supernatural force is a friendly wizard.  Thus, it not as extreme as three pissed off goddesses.

That said, one character she meets would have been blessed with looks from Aphrodite.  The anime is even smart enough to show what that would mean. 

Second, there is also a sportsman character.  He would meet the conditions of being the chosen of Athena.  He would just switch warfare with sports. 

Finally, there is another character wealthy enough to be the chosen of Hera.  This character is also more complex than you would think at a glace.    

Do I think that was on purpose?  No, I don't, but I do think it was interesting mirroring.

There is also a lot more to the story, so I think its well worth a watch.   If you are a guy needing to watch a Shojo with the wife, this is one I'd recommend this one for couples.  Guys can enjoy this one too.
