It is a world suffering from a surge of evil that the people there have no hope of holding off on their own. In desperation, following the spells and traditions of long past generations, they have attempted to summon the greatest hero of their culture. That is a female hero known as the Saint. Rather than awaken in the cliche of being the chosen one, there was a second woman summoned from Japan with Sei, that is declared the Saint. Sei Takanashi finds herself without purpose. There is nothing they can do to send the young lady home. Sei Takanashi is now stuck in exile on a foreign world. The summoners do everything they can to make her life comfortable. In contrition, for her accidental summoning, they offer to let her live comfortably at the palace for life. After being depressed about forever being ripped from her homeland, she goes looking for things to do out of boredom. Sei Takanashi is not the type to live a trust fund life. What she starts to do will sound familiar to certain industrious gamers. She walks upon a garden and learns its used to grow things for alchemy. She takes the time to learn both Herbalism and Alchemy. She finds herself exceptionally good at it. It would be this skill and her unique genius at it that would lead to something important. In a moment of emergency, it would lead to the most fateful encounter of her life with one dying Albert Hawke.This would not be the end of her learning and experimenting in this world. She doesn't like most of the food in this world. She learns how to use the tools of this world to make the food of her homeland with a profession most games would call Cooking. She makes her own makeup. She makes lotions for her skin. She keeps dabbling and learning. It's a quiet but useful life that she cherishes even above the one she had in the world she left. With her humble and introverted personality, it's everything she could wish for. Sei then learns the craft of Enchanting. With this, like all the others she excels. Enchanting leads her to desire to learn magic. This leads her to learn of her gift with healing magic. This leads her into a problem, unlike with crafting, healing people directly would remove the quiet life she has. Healers are rare and with the state of emergency the kingdom is in, she will never have a chance at her quiet life again. Though anxious by nature, she responds to people in need. Sei learns that Commander Hawke's group has been wounded by their fight against the oncoming darkness. There are wounded there that are far beyond the help of healing potions or even the known power of most healing magic users. It's there she makes a fateful decision. This is the actual point where the real story begins. Regardless of the packaging, this is a story of romance and sacrifice, in the face of darkness. If you enjoy crafting in gaming, this is an anime that might hit pretty close to home. This is a huge part of the main character's life. If you play a healer in gaming, this is a rare point where your profession is the main focus of the story. You know who you are if this applies to you. Most people aren't going to care about those two points. So you should know this is a really good couple's anime. If you want something to watch with your significant other, this one is awesome.
