The second player appears...

Marie appears in this episode.  She begins manipulating and corrupting the storyline.   She knows the dialogue by heart on what to say to the Prince and his companions.  She unlocks the "Good Ending" Harem husband storyline, seducing not only the Prince, but his four companions as her future five possible husbands.

Events begin to happen one to two years early due to her extremely early manipulation of the storyline and its flags.  For combat scenes and military events, this is a world where levels and things like attack power matter.  If Events and NPCs attack too early, the under level main characters have no hope.  The world begins to spin into chaos...

First, knowing what to say in a dialogue based game is extremely powerful.  Here's some examples due to power and skills from the classic game, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

VTMB: Some possible less well known dialog choices from the original game.

There is no dialogue option lock like a game would have.  Marie has only to start the conversation the way she wants, to move the capture NPCs to where she wants them.

She might as well have Enchantment like powers to control the minds of her targets that she has memorized conversation and events with.  This will only happen for as long as she has memorized codes to unlock these followers.   As the protagonist and the original in game speaker of these lines, the game was advanced enough to have a power to justify certain things Olivia did that would not normally happen in such as setting, this power is called, "Heart Sharing".

https://mobuseka.fandom.com/wiki/Olivia

Within a vast area, Olivia (with amplification from the Royal Airship Weiss) can revoke every single human beings' willpower (regardless of friends or foes) by sending her emotion to their soul (except for whom with psychic immunity, for example the Black Knight equipped with Magic Right Arm). People that surrendered to Olivia's resolve can only follow commands that appear as Olivia's faint voice resonating deep in their heart. Side effect includes hallucination, emotion manipulation and sensory deprivation (gradual loss of consciousness). Additionally, a warm overwhelming light would originate from Olivia and scatter across the battlefield, further weakening human's mental resistance and vanquishing monsters).[9]

I'm not saying this is the case, but it is worth considering that Olivia when fully developed has the Saint, will have extreme mind control powers.   She even has a moment in a few episodes where this power manifests even against two robots.

Here is an example of the purple man doing this in the show Jessica Jones:

There is a point later in the story where the Saint can use several lost items that would have range far beyond that of the purple man.  She could effect things far more powerful than the purple man could ever hope to dominate as well.

It is worth considering that not everything going on may be an action of anyone's free will.  Does simply being around Olivia erode one's free will over time?  Consciously or Unconsciously can she make you take on traits you would not have had due to being constantly exposed to her?

There are things going on beyond the abilities of the Saint as well.  The entire world is carrying out the storyline directives of the game and the characters are bent to that will, even Olivia herself.

Because this world is based as a game, it now changes the behavior of the Prince and his friends to the "Good ending" 100% completion male Harem plotline.  It is unknown if this timeline has hard wired Olivia to also collect a harem of her own...

The game has a consistent willingness to sacrifice Angelica Rapha Redgrave.  It's my understanding what happens below, this has played out 6 times in the game for 100% completion.

She opposes Olivia ending the engagements of others six times.   She loses everything for doing so six times, in six different timelines within the original game.

Timeline 1: Angelica defends the fiancée of Jilk, Clarice Fia Atlee.   Her champion is opposed by Jilk and loses the duel. She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.

Timeline 2: Angelica defends the fiancée of Chris.   Her champion is opposed by Chris and loses the duel. She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.  It's noted in (Volume 2 Chapter 5 part 2/ Chapter 54 -volume 2) that Chris's fiancée never appeared in game.

Timeline 3: Angelica defends the fiancée of Greg.   Her champion is opposed by Greg and loses the duel. She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.  It's noted in (Volume 2 Chapter 5 part 2/ Chapter 54 -volume 2) that Greg's fiancée never appeared in game.

Timeline 4: Angelica defends the fiancée of Brad, Stephanie Fou Offrey.   Her champion is opposed by Brad and loses the duel.  She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.   Ironically, she made this sacrifice for a known rival and someone who is actively her enemy in this timeline.

Timeline 5: Angelica defends herself against Olivia taking her love from her.  Angelica's champion is opposed by the Prince and loses the duel.  She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.

Timeline 6 (only possible after completing Timelines 1-5): The last option is repeated for the "Good ending" harem.  Angelica steps in for four other women, including herself.  Once again she loses everything. She is exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.

Angelica stands up for herself and/or the four other noble women six out of six times.  For the game to progress, she loses six out of six times.

For the game to move past that scene, Olivia is always the victor.  While ending the engagement of at least one other woman, Olivia ends with a husband and four friends five out of six times.  The sixth time Olivia takes away the engagements of all five ladies and takes every single man as her husband.

The expectation to this broken record happens when Marie manages start a different spin on the Harem ending.   This time Angelica has no champion and for the first time, all five males ask her to duel.

This one time, something different also happens to the doomed Duchess.   This is the story you are watching.

My question is this, "How bad do you think Angelica is as a character?"   Other than the plot saying she was the villain, she carried herself the way the Queen would have wanted, even if she lost her temper.

Also, if someone was making a move on the love of your life, who would you want defending you when you weren't there?  Would you want a typical noble from this world?   Would you want someone like Angelica who would risk everything to stand up for what she felt was right on your behalf?

Also, where was the loving Queen 6 out of 6 times for Angelica?   Angie's mom can exile her and make her marry beneath her station, but the Queen had to approve the marriage, as it was outside the normal striking zone of whom nobles could decide to marry amongst themselves.

The only difference in action in the time to come is that the Prince and his companions don't do as well in the duel.  It is just something to think about...

This brings us also to slaves, often referred to as personal servants.   The anime doesn't deep dive into this the way that the manga and the novels do.   Women expect to have them.  Families even buy them for their sisters and daughters if they have the means.  Noble husbands are expected to buy them for their wives.

The Prince and Jilk get Marie (and previously Olivia) an underaged slave, so she has the status and a servant without the adult benefits that go with it.  Since Kyle is an elf, Marie will die of old age long before Kyle becomes an adult.

If you are wondering about that, women use these slaves as bodyguards, butlers and lovers.  This is expected to be provided for noble women even when they are married and even if they are married to multiple husbands.

Demihumans allow women to have a lover without the risk of accidently reproducing with the wrong male. After reading the manga, this belief may be a plot point in the anime's season 2.  Every women in the school and in the world walking with multiple adult, attractive demi humans is walking with her own personal harem.

There is no virginity expectation of women in this world, or of men for that matter.   So when a couple of the high ranking noble women, choose to only be with their future husbands and their future husbands alone, Angelica and Claire, it is worth noting they are making a choice completely at odds with the perks that noble women commonly enjoy.

As Romantics and Traditionalists, these two women who are careful to be proper traditional nobles.  Angelica and Claire make a choice to follow the marriage expectations from a more equal time.  Both women are like the old Romantic knights that chose to woo their wives with acts of romance in Medieval Europe, at a time where even noble women were traded like horses.  If you look at the tragic normal fates of Angelica and Claire, you will also see another possible reason why the women of this world see it as a waste of time to be nice to a human male.

Episode 6 - The Queen

As the episode itself will be done in a far lighter tone, I'd like the people who underestimate the queen to see a few bits from the manga.  First is Angie's assessment of her once potential mother in law.

If you keep in mind that Angie was once the proto Queen, chosen and trained by Queen herself as her beloved son's fiancée.  It is worth noting that she refers to the Queen as a scary person above.

Angie was trained to run the kingdom, know military strategy, know every noble within the kingdom and their alliances, know every major noble outside the kingdom and their potential threat.   She finds the Queen scary.

Also, as noted in the fate of Angie, she had a fate 6 out of 6 times in various timelines.  She was exiled, loses her engagement to the Prince, and forced to marry an ugly, older abusive baron on the frontier by her mother.  Angie's mom can exile her and make her marry beneath her station, but the Queen had to approve the marriage in those six timelines, as it was outside the normal striking zone of whom nobles could decide to marry amongst themselves.

The only difference in action in the time to come is that the Prince and his companions don't do as well in the duel. In the other six timelines, these pleasant conversations do not happen.  In the other six timelines, the Queen has already condemned Angie to her horrible fate.

In the cafe, the threat directed at the Queen was far more severe in the manga and the novel.  Stephanie's Bodyguards/Harem were a direct physical danger to an unprepared Queen.

As she underestimated the threat that could happen at a school, she had no guards as she was spying on her son, Julius, as well as, Angie and Leon.  It is at that moment that someone unexpected immediately comes to her aid.

People love this episode.  It may be only what it appears to be on the surface level.  That said, it might be worth looking at what might be at stake here.
